Tai Tzu-Ying Tears Up Recalling Olympic Match

Competing through injury at the Paris Olympics, Tai Tzu-Ying faced a tough loss in the group stage against her close friend, Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand, marking the end of her Olympic journey. After the match, Tai and her friend embraced in tears, leaving fans deeply moved. Today, Tai Tzu-Ying shared another post, admitting that she still tears up whenever she thinks about that day’s match. She also expressed her gratitude to fans for standing by her side, whether in victory or defeat, and sharing every moment with her.

“Every time I see anything related to that day’s match, I can’t help but cry… Thank you all for sharing in my joys, shedding tears of sorrow with me, and continuously encouraging and supporting me,” Tai Tzu-Ying wrote in her post.

In this Olympics, Tai Tzu-Ying was struggling with an old injury in her left knee and sustained a new injury to her right knee during training. At one point, she even had to use a wheelchair to visit the hospital. Initially, she thought she wouldn’t be able to compete and would need crutches, but she carried on despite the pain and expectations, breaking down only after the competition ended.

A few days after the conclusion of her Olympic career, Tai Tzu-Ying posted a photo of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on social media, expressing her gratitude and reassuring everyone not to worry. She wrote, “Thank you all for your encouraging and caring messages; I’m really okay,” adding a smiley face and saying, “I am truly grateful for each and every one of you,” along with a heart emoji.
