On September 16, Beijing time, Lee Chong Wei posted on his social media platform to celebrate Malaysia Day, sharing a photo of his family of five and announcing that his wife, Wong Mew Choo, is pregnant with their third child. He wrote in Chinese: “A gift for Malaysia. Since retiring, I haven’t been able to contribute another medal for the country, but I can contribute another person. Happy Malaysia Day!”
In an interview, Lee Chong Wei mentioned that Wong Mew Choo is due in early December, but he kept the baby’s gender a “mystery.” The article also noted that when asked whether their two children wanted a brother or a sister, their second son, Lee KJ, wished for the baby and mom to be healthy, while their elder son, Lee Kaichen, expressed a preference for a sister because she wouldn’t compete with him for the video game remote.
