Allan BUDI KUSUMA


Character Introduction

Alan Budikusuma, (romanization: Goei Ren Fang, March 29, 1968-) is an Indonesian-Chinese badminton player.

He finished second in the men’s singles final of the 1991 World Badminton Championships, losing to Chinese player Zhao Jianhua.

In 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games badminton men’s singles final victory over compatriot Adi Bernardus Wiranata, won the title, is the first Indonesian player to win the Olympic men’s singles gold medal.

He won the 1993 Badminton World Cup Men’s Singles final against compatriot Jogo Supriyanto.

In 1996, he represented Indonesia in the Thomas Cup, beating Denmark in the final to win the title.

In 1997, he married Wang Lianxiang, also a famous badminton player, and in 1999, they hung up their rackets together and retired.
