Chan Hung Yung

Character Introduction

Chan Hung Yung is a female badminton player from Hong Kong, China.

Chan Hung Yung was born into a badminton family. Her father, Chan Chi Fai, is a badminton coach and former Hong Kong Asian Games representative, while her uncle, Chan Chi Choi, is the former head coach of the Hong Kong team. She started playing badminton in Grade 4 of elementary school and received strict training from her father. She became a full-time athlete after completing Form 4 at Heep Yunn Secondary School as she believed that full-time training at an early age would be beneficial to her future development.

In December 2009, Chan won a bronze medal in the women’s badminton team event at the East Asian Games for Hong Kong, China.

In August 2013, Chan participated in the World Badminton Championships in Guangzhou, China, where she and Chow Kai Wah competed in the women’s doubles event and lost 0-2 (14-21, 13-21) to Joanna Griswieski/Birgid Mackes of Germany in the first round.
