In August 2009, Chan Yan Kit won the men’s singles title at the New Zealand Badminton Open by defeating his teammate Wong Wing Ki with a score of 2-0. Later in November of the same year, he reached the quarterfinals of the Hong Kong Badminton Open, matching the team’s best performance in the tournament.
In November 2010, Chan Yan Kit represented Hong Kong in badminton at the Guangzhou Asian Games, competing in both the men’s singles and team events.
