Character Introduction

Chau Hoi Wah is a female badminton player from Hong Kong, China.

Chau Hoi Wah immigrated to Toronto, Canada with her family when she was about 9 or 10 years old. 2006, Chau Hoi Wah was persuaded by Chan Chi Choi, who was the head coach of the Hong Kong team at that time, to return to Canada when the Hong Kong team competed there and represented the Hong Kong team in the tournament.

In December 2009, Chow Kai-wah represented Hong Kong in the East Asian Games, participating in the women’s badminton team and mixed doubles (together with Wei Yan-kwan) events, winning two bronze medals.

In November 2010, Chow Kai Wah represented Hong Kong, China at the Guangzhou Asian Games, participating in the Women’s Doubles (with Chan Chi Ka), Mixed Doubles (with Wong Wai Hong) and Women’s Team events.

In July 2013, Chow Kai Wah teamed up with Lee Jin Hee in the Mixed Doubles final at the Badminton Grand Prix in the United States of America, eventually defeating China’s Wang Yilu/Huang Yaqiong 2-0 (21-8, 21-14) to win their first career Grand Prix title. They then reached the Canadian Grand Prix Mixed Doubles final and edged out the Dutch pair 2-0 (21-13, 21-10) to win another Grand Prix title a week apart.

In August 2013, Zhou Kaihua participated in the World Badminton Championships in Guangzhou, China, playing in the Women’s Doubles event and Mixed Doubles event with Chen Hongrong and Lee Jinxi respectively. In Mixed Doubles, she was defeated 1-2 (23-21, 15-21, 14-21) in the third round by No. 3 seed Tontowi Ahmad/Liliana Nasir, also from Indonesia, and stopped in the Round of 16.

In August 2016, Chow Kai Wah represented Hong Kong in the Mixed Doubles event of the Olympic Games Badminton Tournament held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, playing with Lee Jin Hei as the 9th seed. In the group stage, the only win was against Mike Fuchs/Birgid Maks of Germany, followed by two defeats against Pravin Jordan/Debbie Susanto of Indonesia and Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei of China, who ultimately failed to qualify for the group stage.
