Chochuwong Pornpawee


Character Introduction

Chochuwong Pornpawee (Thai: พรปวีณ์ ช่อชูวงศ์, January 22, 1998) is a Thai female badminton singles player. She has studied a little Chinese in school, so she helped herself to the Chinese name Li Wonderful. She won the 2015 Asian Youth Championships and the 2016 World Youth Championships women’s singles runner-up.

In September 2015, Pongpawi B磋楚翁 played in the Sydney Badminton International and won her first singles international title, defeating the tournament’s No. 3 seed, Ozge Bayrak of Turkey, 2-1 (21-11, 14-21, 21-19) in the women’s singles final.

In November 2016, Pongpawi Tsongchuong represented Thailand at the World Junior Badminton Championships in Bilbao, Spain, winning third place in the team event and second place in the women’s singles.

In August 2017, Pongpawi Thongchuwong represented Thailand at the Southeast Asian Games Badminton Tournament held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the Thai women’s team won the gold medal in the first team event; while the women’s singles semi-final was defeated by Malaysia’s rising star’s Christina Goh 1-2 (9-21, 21-10, 18-21) to win the third place of the women’s singles at the East Games.

At the 2020 Spain Masters Badminton Championships, Spain’s Olympic women’s singles champion Marin was defeated by world No. 20 Thailand’s Lee Wonderful in a 75-minute, three-set battle in the final, 21-11, 16-21, 18-21. Lee won her first career Super Series title.
