Chow Mei Kuan


Character Introduction

Chow Mei Kuan (December 23, 1994) is a Malaysian female badminton player.

In July 2011, Chow Mei Kuan represented Malaysia at the Asian Junior Badminton Championships in Lucknow, India, where she won the silver medal in the first team event, and was runner-up to Indonesia’s Suki Riki Andini/Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah in the women’s doubles final with Lee Mingyan, 1-2 (18-21, 21-16, 12-21).

In October 2011, she represented Malaysia at the World Junior Badminton Championships in Taoyuan, Taiwan, where Malaysia won the gold medal in the first team event, and then won the third place with Fang Weijie in the Mixed Doubles Semi-Final against Indonesia’s Ronald Alexander/Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah, 1-2 (17-21, 22-20, 16-21).

In November 2012, Zou Meijun and Li Mingyan played in the Malaysia Badminton International Challenge and won their first international tournament by defeating Indonesia’s Rilyn Amelia/Melvira Okramona 2-0 (21-13, 23-21) in the women’s doubles final.

In July 2013, Zou Meijun represented Malaysia at the World University Games badminton tournament in Kazan, Russia, winning the women’s doubles bronze medal in partnership with Lee Mingyan.

In April 2018, Zou Meijun represented Malaysia at the Commonwealth Games badminton tournament held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, where the Malaysian team won the silver medal in the first team event; and the women’s doubles final with Koh Kah Man defeated the tournament’s No. 3 seed, Lauren Smith/Sarah Walker of England, 2-0 (21-12, 21-12) to win their first-ever Commonwealth Women’s Doubles Gold Medal.

On August 16, 2021, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) announced that Zou Meijun would withdraw from the national team, and officially retired on September 15
