Dominant Victory for Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping in Paris Olympic Debut

On July 27, during the first day of the badminton group stage at the Olympics, Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping faced their opponents, American players Qiu Kaixiang and Jennie Gai, in Group D. The Chinese pair won easily with scores of 21-11 and 21-14.

As the reigning Olympic mixed doubles champion, Huang Dongping has returned to the Olympic stage with her new partner, Feng Yanzhe, drawing considerable attention in their debut. The “Phoenix” duo displayed strong dominance in the first game, though they faced a brief challenge in the second game. As Feng Yanzhe mentioned after the match: “We had prepared for difficulties because we were not very familiar with the first match, so we were quickly focused and very excited.”

From the glory in Tokyo to the new journey in Paris, for Huang Dongping, this is not just a continuation of her title defense, but also a new challenge and self-surpassing experience. She approaches it with a relaxed mindset: “Starting anew, coming here, it’s not so much about the pressure of defending the title but more about the motivation to overcome challenges. It’s like passing through different levels in a game, step by step. Since we are here in France, we should enjoy this relaxing atmosphere and enjoy the game more.”
