Today marks the start of the first-round matches for all doubles events (men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles) at the 2024 European Championships.
The English duo, Marcus Ellis / Lauren Smith, who won a bronze medal at the 2018 European Championships and a silver medal in 2021, enter the competition as the 5th seeds. They will face the Polish pair Robert Cybulski / Kornelia Marczak.
Last year’s European Games bronze medalists, the Popov brothers, are gearing up for their first doubles match today and will compete in singles matches tomorrow. They will go up against the home team pair Daniel Hess / Patrick Scheiel.
