Gabriela Stoeva

Character Introduction

Gabriela Stoeva (Bulgarian: Габриела Стоева, born July 15, 1994) is a Bulgarian female badminton player.

In 2004, Gabriela Stoeva and her sister Stefani Stoeva joined a badminton club in Haskovo, marking the beginning of their badminton careers. Before that, Gabriela was a social dance competitor. At the age of 12, after winning their first national women’s doubles title, the sisters began professional training.

In May 2012, she and Stefani Stoeva competed in the Bulgaria Open, winning the women’s doubles title after defeating their teammates Rumiana Ivanova and Dimitriya Popstoikova 2–1 (15-21, 21-14, 21-11), marking their first international series victory. In October of the same year, the sisters won the Bulgaria International, beating top-seeded Özge Bayrak and Neslihan Yiğit from Turkey 2–0 (21-9, 21-17), securing their first international challenge title.

In March 2013, Gabriela represented Bulgaria at the European Junior Championships in Ankara, Turkey, where she won the women’s doubles title.

In 2014, she represented Bulgaria at the European Women’s Team Championships in Basel, Switzerland, helping the team secure a bronze medal.

In November 2014, Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva won the Scottish Grand Prix, defeating England’s Heather Olver and Lauren Smith 2–0 (21-7, 21-15) in the women’s doubles final, claiming their first Grand Prix title.

In March 2018, they won the Orléans Masters, a Super 100 tournament, defeating France’s Delphine Delrue and Léa Palermo 2–0 (21-8, 21-14) in the women’s doubles final.
