Character Introduction
Goh Jin Wei (January 30, 2000) is a Malaysian female badminton player and an active member of the Malaysian national badminton team.
In 2010, she was awarded the Special Prize at the “Penang State Sportsperson of the Year” awards ceremony, and by the age of 11, she had already become a member of the state team, winning 52 trophies of various sizes, including the doubles title and the singles third place at the Olympic Badminton Championships (East Association Schools Open Badminton Championships) held in Giant Harbour, Indonesia.
In early 2014, the Malaysian Badminton Federation called her up to train with the national team.
In January 2015, at the age of just 15, Christina Ng’s performance in the Purple League Badminton League was highly acclaimed; in February of the same year, she won her first domestic open title at the Kuala Lumpur Open Badminton Championships, becoming the youngest domestic open champion.
In November 2015, Christina Goh represented Malaysia at the World Junior Badminton Championships in Lima, Peru, and became Malaysia’s first World Junior Women’s Singles Champion with a 2-0 (21-15, 21-16) victory over her teammate, Lee Ying Ying, in the women’s singles final.
In August 2017, Christina Goh represented Malaysia to participate in the Southeast Asian Games badminton tournament held in her country, playing in the women’s team as well as the women’s singles, and in the final of the pioneering team tournament, the women’s team lost to the Thailand national badminton team by a total score of 1:3 to win the silver medal; in addition, the final of the individual tournament and the tournament’s No. 4 seed, the Malaysian teammates of the Xie Lingyi bud to achieve the women’s singles of the East Asian Games will be the same, and the final with a 2-0 ( 21-11, 21-10) to take, is also her first time to win the East Games women’s singles gold medal.
In October 2018, Christina Goh competed in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games badminton tournament, eventually defeating China’s Wang Zhiyi in the women’s singles final 2-1 (16-21, 21-13, 21-19) to win Malaysia’s first-ever gold medal in the women’s singles badminton event at the Youth Olympic Games.
