He Yi Ming

Character Introduction

Former Chinese male badminton player.

He joined the Guangzhou Badminton Team in 1979 and became one of the first members of the team after its establishment, with Guan Weizhen as a teammate at the same time. 1985, he was transferred to the Chinese National Badminton Team for his outstanding performance, playing in the Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles events, and in 1987, he teamed up with his fellow Guangzhou national Yang Xinfang to win the third place in the Mixed Doubles of the World Badminton Championships.

In 1994, the retired Ho Yat-ming was invited by the Hong Kong Badminton Association to coach the women’s team of the Hong Kong Badminton Team and was the head coach of the women’s team after the Atlanta Olympics two years later. Under his leadership, the Hong Kong women’s team made rapid progress, and was ranked among the quarter-finalists for the first time in the 2002 Uber Cup, as well as the gold and silver medals of the women’s singles team in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, etc. Since June 2010, he has been appointed as the head coach of the Hong Kong badminton team.
