Hsueh Hsuan Yi
Character Introduction
Hsueh Hsuan Yi (October 26, 1985) is a male badminton player from Chinese Taipei. Born in Okayama Township, Kaohsiung County, he graduated from the Graduate School of Athletic and Coaching Science of the National University of Physical Education and Sports. He is a devout Christian, which is why his teammates have nicknamed him “Amen”. Formerly a member of the Cooperative Bank badminton team, he now coaches the badminton team at Miaoli County Tatung Senior High School.
Hsueh Hsuan-yi started to play badminton in the third grade of elementary school, and in high school he won the Youth Cup singles championship, and also won the second consecutive team championship in the middle school sports games. In addition, he also participated in the Games badminton team championship and singles championship. However, he was forced to take a 3-year break due to an injury.
In November 2010, Hsueh Hsuan-yih represented Chinese Taipei at the Guangzhou Asian Games, competing in the men’s badminton team event.
In August 2020, Hsueh announced his retirement from badminton and took a job as a badminton coach at Miaoli County Tatung Senior High School.
