Hu Zhe An Claims First Senior Title, Ranked 282nd in the World
The finals of the 2024 China Baoji Badminton Masters ended recently in Shaanxi. The Chinese badminton team won five championships and runner-ups.In men’s singles, national youth team member Hu Zhe’an won 18-21, 21-11, 21-14 and Wang Zhengxing won their first match and won the first Badminton Tour men’s singles championship in his career.
The Baoji China Masters is a BWF Super 100 tournament with a total prize pool of $100,000. After winning the title, Zhejiang’s rising star Hu Zhe’an earned 5,500 ranking points, placing him 282nd in the BWF World Rankings. Notably, this 18-year-old Chinese men’s singles player was competing in a senior-level tournament for the first time. Previously, he was the runner-up in the 2023 World Junior Championships and won the Asian Junior Championships in both 2023 and 2024, making him a promising future star for Chinese men’s badminton.
