Character Introduction
Juliane Schenk, a German female badminton player.
In 2008, Juliane Schenk represented Germany in the women’s singles event at the Beijing Olympic Games. She was defeated in the first round after a tough three-game battle against Indonesia’s Maria Kristin Yulianti.
In August 2011, Juliane Schenk reached the semifinals of the World Badminton Championships held in London, UK, but lost to Taiwan’s Cheng Shao-chieh, missing out on the final.
In July 2012, Juliane Schenk represented Germany in the women’s singles event at the London Olympic Games. In the group stage, she defeated Kristína Gavnholt from the Czech Republic and Larisa Griga from Ukraine to advance to the knockout stage. However, in the first round of the knockout stage, she was defeated 0-2 (16-21, 15-21) by Thailand’s rising star Ratchanok Intanon, exiting the tournament in the round of 16.
On March 1, 2014, Juliane Schenk officially retired from the Badminton World Federation.
