Character Introduction
Kim Ha-na (Korean: 김하나, December 17, 1989) is a South Korean female badminton player who specializes in doubles, and whose partnership with Ko Sung-hyun reached the top of the world rankings.
In December 2011, Kim won the women’s doubles title at the Macau Badminton Grand Prix Gold with Jeong Kyung-in, the first WBF Grand Prix title of her career.
On the morning of July 31, 2012, Jung Kyung-yin and Kim Ha-na were disqualified by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) for negative play at the London Olympics.
In August 2013, Kim Ha Na competed at the World Badminton Championships in Guangzhou, China, where she and Jung Kyung Yin were seeded 11th in the women’s doubles event. By the quarterfinals, they ended up losing 0-2 (11-21, 19-21) to top seeds Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang of China, stopping in the last 8.
In August 2016, Kim Ha-na represented South Korea in the mixed doubles event of the Olympic badminton tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, playing with Ko Sung-hyun as the No. 2 seed. In the quarterfinals, Kim Ha Na and Ko Sung Hyun faced Xu Chen/Ma Jin of China and were defeated 0-2 (17-21, 18-21).
On June 21, 2018, Kim Ha-na’s world ranking points were cleared while news spread that she had applied to the Badminton World Federation for retirement.On July 26, it was officially announced that she had retired from the Korean national badminton team.
