Lang Ville
Character Introduction
Ville Lång is a Finnish male badminton player.
In the 2003 European Youth Badminton Championships, Lång won a bronze medal. He also secured the Finnish National Championships title in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.
At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Lång performed well in the men’s singles, reaching the Round of 16 by defeating players from Ukraine and the USA, but was defeated by Indonesian star Sony Dwi Kuncoro.
In 2012, Lång represented Finland at the London Olympics. He was eliminated in the group stage of the men’s singles event, losing 1-2 (8-21, 21-14, 11-21) to top seed Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia. During the competition, Finnish President Sauli Väinämö Niinistö was present to support him.
In August 2013, Lång competed in the World Badminton Championships held in Guangzhou, China. In the first round of the men’s singles, he lost 0-2 (4-21, 15-21) to Viktor Axelsen of Denmark.
In August 2014, Lång participated in the World Badminton Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. He won 2-1 against Israel’s Misha Zilberman in the first round, but was defeated 1-2 (21-17, 15-21, 17-21) by the 9th seed Hu Yun of Hong Kong in the second round.
In August 2015, Lång competed in the World Badminton Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he lost 0-2 (13-21, 14-21) to the 9th seed Son Wan-ho of South Korea in the first round.
