Man Wei Chong


Character Introduction

Man Wei Chong (September 5, 1999), born in Malacca, is a Malaysian male badminton player and a member of the Malaysian national team.

Man Wei Chong started his career as a freelance badminton player at Petaling Badminton Club under the coaching of former Malaysian national team coach Yap Kam Fook.In 2016, Man Wei Chong and his male doubles partner Tan Tong Kit at Petaling Club accepted a call-up to represent Malaysia at the World Junior Championships, where they played in the last eight and last four of the mixed team event and won to help Malaysia reach the finals after a five-year absence.In 2017, Man Wei Chong again played as a freelance player at the Asian Junior Championships, and again as a freelance player. , Wan Wee Chong again participated in the Asian Youth Championships as a libero, helping Malaysia finish third in the mixed team event. In October of the same year, the Malaysian national team sent an official letter shortly before the World Youth Championships to invite Wan Wei Cong to join, he also participated in the international tournament for the first time as a member of the national team, and once again for Malaysia to reap the second place in the mixed team event.

In January 2022, Kevin Cheng and Wan Wei Cong participated in the Said Modi Badminton International, the fifth tier of the Badminton World Federation World Tour, as the eighth seeds of the tournament. They would face the challenge of hosts and sixth seeds of the tournament, Krishna Prazakd Galaga/Vishnu Vardhan Goud Panjara, in the final, and they took the match in straight sets to claim their maiden Super 300 Tournament Championship.
