Character Introduction
Mark Zwiebler is a male badminton player from Germany.
At the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Zwiebler made it to the top 16 in the men’s singles badminton competition but was eliminated by South Korea’s Lee Hyun-il.
In July 2012, he represented Germany at the Olympic Games badminton tournament held in London, UK, in the men’s singles event. During the group stage, he defeated Mohamed Affan Rasheed from the Maldives and Dmytro Zavadsky from Ukraine, successfully advancing to the knockout stage. However, he was defeated by China’s Chen Jin with a total game score of 1-2 (19-21, 21-12, 9-21) in the first round and stopped at the top 16.
In August 2013, Zwiebler participated in the World Badminton Championships held in Guangzhou, China, as the 11th seed in the men’s singles event. He faced Indonesia’s Tommy Sugiarto, the 8th seed, in the third round and lost 0-2 (19-21, 14-21), again stopping at the top 16.
In August 2014, Zwiebler competed in the men’s singles event at the World Badminton Championships held in Copenhagen, Denmark. He advanced to the next round after defeating Sri Lanka’s Niluka Karunaratne 2-0 in the first round, but was defeated 0-2 (11-21, 10-21) by China’s Chen Long, the 2nd seed, in the second round.
In 2018, Zwiebler continued to represent Germany in group events such as the European Badminton Men’s Team Championships and the Thomas Cup.
