Michael Lahnsteiner (born December 6, 1983) is an Austrian male badminton player.

In 2012, Michael Lahnsteiner represented Austria in the men’s singles event at the London Olympics. He lost both of his group stage matches, first to Raul Must of Estonia and then to Simon Santoso of Indonesia, failing to advance.

In August 2013, Michael Lahnsteiner competed in the men’s singles event at the World Badminton Championships held in Guangzhou, China. He was eliminated in the first round, losing 0–2 (12-21, 10-21) to Vladimir Ivanov of Russia.
