NG Wing Yung

Character Introduction

Ng Wing Yung, Emily (Chinese: 吴咏瑢; born May 17, 1995), is a Hong Kong female badminton player. She graduated from North Point Government Primary School and Heep Yunn School.

In 2012, Ng Wing Yung represented Hong Kong at the 5th Asian Schools Badminton Championships, where she won a bronze medal in both the women’s team event and the women’s singles event.

In September 2017, Ng Wing Yung, partnered with Cheung Tak Ching, competed in the Singapore International Series, finishing as the runner-up in mixed doubles after losing 0-2 (16-21, 18-21) in the final to Indonesia’s Andika Ramadiansyah and Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso. In November of the same year, she competed in the India International Challenge, partnering with Yuen Sin Ying in women’s doubles and Cheung Tak Ching in mixed doubles. In the women’s doubles final, they were defeated 1-2 (25-23, 14-21, 19-21) by the second-seeded pair and fellow Hong Kong teammates Ng Tsz Yau and Lianne Yeung Nga Ting, earning the runner-up position. In the mixed doubles final, they lost 1-2 (11-21, 21-17, 18-21) to their Hong Kong teammates Mak Hee Chun and Lianne Yeung Nga Ting, again finishing as runners-up.

In December 2021, Ng Wing Yung and Cheung Tak Ching competed in the 2021 World Badminton Championships, where they eliminated the world’s second-ranked Chinese mixed doubles pair Huang Yaqiong and Zheng Siwei in the first round.
