Polina Buhrova beat Tereza Shvabikova in another best-of-three match.
They played each other at the 2024 European Championship in Saarbrucken, where Shvabikova won to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This time, it was Bukhlova, a Ukrainian, who had the last laugh.
This means that the European players are likely to be out, the only silver lining is that Shvabikova can beat 7th seed Tunjung (Indian national air) to bring a turnaround in the group.
They will face each other as early as 3:40 PM tomorrow (Beijing time). Hopefully Shvabikova can do the impossible and we will see a high-quality badminton match, which is what we are looking forward to!
