Character Introduction

Prannoy Haseena Sunil Kumar (July 17, 1992 – ), often referred to as Prannoy H. S. is an Indian male badminton player.

In August 2010, Prannoy played in the Youth Olympic Games badminton tournament and won the Youth Olympic silver medal after losing 0-2 (15-21, 16-21) to Pisit Puchara of Thailand in the men’s singles final.

In September 2014, Prannoy played in the Indonesia Badminton Masters. In the final, he faced host rookie Firman Abdul Kolik of Indonesia and won the match 2-0 (21-11, 22-20), his first Golden Grand Prix title.

In March 2016, Prannoy played in the Swiss Badminton Golden Grand Prix. In the final, he faced the tournament’s No. 7 seed, Marc Zwiebler of Germany’s No. 1, and won the match 2-0 (21-18, 21-15), winning the Golden Grand Prix title again after a 2-year hiatus.

In July 2017, Prannoy played in the USA Badminton Golden Grand Prix. In the final, the battle of India’s derby was staged, taking down teammate Kashyap Parupalli 2-1 (21-15, 20-22, 21-12) to win his third Golden Grand Prix title.

At the end of October of the same year, Prannoy played in the French Badminton Superseries. In the quarterfinals, he welcomed the tournament’s 8th seed and teammate Srikanth Kidambi, who lost 1-2 (21-14, 19-21, 18-21) after a three-set battle.

On May 14, 2022, the 2022 Toms Cup Finals concluded in Thailand with the Toms Cup semifinals, with India’s Prannoy coming back to beat Ghemke 2-1 (13-21, 21-9, 21-12) in the deciding game to give India a 3-2 win.

In May 2023, Prannoy won the Malaysian Badminton Masters Men’s Singles Final with a 21-19,13-21,21-18 victory over Ong Hong Yang.

In August 2023, Prannoy turned back defending champion Anselmo Anselmo in the quarterfinals of the World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, 13:21, 21:15, 21:16, but ultimately fell to Kunlavut in the semifinals to win the bronze medal, his best result since competing in the World Championships.

In October 2023 Prannoy participated in the Asian Games badminton tournament, in the semifinals of 16:21, 9:21 defeated Li Shihong finally collected the bronze medal.
