[Review Experience] ASTROX racket “coherent, continuous” excellent representative, ZZ is not yet the end of the ASTROX series – ASTROX 100ZZ test experience!

As usual, YONEX racquet series, the last or near last to come out, generally tend to have small frames, thin center shafts (and in some cases, slightly longer handles and shorter center shafts.) and titled with a Z (or extreme).

After the ASTROX 99 was introduced, as a badminton enthusiast, I also did a brief review of the ASTROX line of rackets, and predictions. I guessed that there would be another 100Z racket (YONEX ASTROX series (77, 88, 99…) A first look at the evolution of racket development).

However, the 99’s successor, the 100, is not a 100Z, but a ZZ, with a ZX. It is a bit puzzling, is the last Z in this numbering sequence, some idea? Or is it rich (more)?

The new racquet is a thin center stick, a HYPER grade, super thin center stick. The diameter of the shaft is only 6.2MM, which is also the first time in the company’s racket products, more than the previous EXTRA, of course, even finer than ULTRA, and SUPER (SLIM SHAFT), can also be called the thinnest YONEX center shaft of the business of the pioneering work.

Putting aside the introduction of complex new materials and related application technologies that are not easy to understand and visualize for the average person, the shape (or paint and color) of the racket is still more tangible for the player’s visual perception. The shape of the racket (or the paint and the color) is still more practical for the players’ visual perception.

The shape and size of the racket frame, compared with ASTROX 88D, and DZS, 100ZZ the upper half of the frame, than 88D (or 77) is not small, the lower half than the DZS is not big, but the head of the racket is flatter near the 12 o’clock, it seems that the original top of the original, the square head, and then pressed a little bit, is basically flat. Full line of grooves, this is the same as the DZS. Racket frame 3 (9), 12 o’clock direction wide, thick, compared with the same 4U5 ASTROX 77, 100ZZ racket frame 3 (9 o’clock) a little wider, thinner, 12 o’clock wide, thicker are a little more.

If I have to say that the bottom half of the frame is not very big, it’s a little bit “like” the frame of the previous small racquets.

The 100ZZ has the thinnest center bar diameter, only 6.2MM, compared to the DZS center bar of 6.4MM, and the shortest length, which is nearly 10MM shorter than the DZS when compared to the T-head (the 100ZZ has a high point on the top of the tapered handle, which is raised to the bottom of the T-head). The length is also the shortest in comparison to the DZS.

“Not too small at the top, not too big at the bottom of the center, transition in the middle, and flattened at the top”. Is this a good way to summarize the shape of the 100ZZ frame?

On the top of the racket, outside of the 12 o’clock, there is still no trace of molding. In fact, when the first ASTROX 77 was introduced, the 12 o’clock position was already as smooth as the rest.

The basic parameters of the racket in hand: ASTROX 100 ZZ, CH, 4U5, 76 holes, not on the line racket total length: 672MM; handle length (including taper handle) about 217MM convex, 213MM concave, de-molded handle circumference: about 82MM; ASTROX four knots, 28/30.

Balance point and quality:
① about 307MM, 83.38. grams (go handle plasticized empty shoot) (with handle plasticized about 303MM, 84.9 grams)
② about 304MM, 91.58 grams (on the line and 102C yellow hand glue, hand glue wrapped to the bottom of the glue seal, plus half a 102C seal strip. The same hand glue wrapped about all taper handle, balance point quality is basically the same.)
