Sabrina Jaquet is a Swiss female badminton player.
In 2012, Sabrina Jaquet participated in the European Badminton Championships held in Sweden, setting her personal best in singles by reaching the quarter-finals; she was eventually defeated by the second seed of the event, Juliane Schenk of Germany.
In 2012, Sabrina Jaquet represented Switzerland in the badminton singles competition at the Olympic Games held in London, United Kingdom. She lost to Belgium’s Tine Baun and India’s Saina Nehwal in the group stage with a score of 0-2, exiting the tournament without a win.
In August 2013, Jaquet participated in the World Badminton Championships held in Guangzhou, China, playing in the mixed doubles event with Anthony De Martire. They advanced to the second round after defeating a Russian pair 2-0 in the first round, but were then eliminated by the second seed, China’s Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei, with a score of 0-2 (11-21, 15-21). Additionally, she also competed in the women’s singles event, automatically advancing to the second round due to her opponent’s withdrawal, but was then eliminated by the 16th seed, Hong Kong’s Yip Pui Yin, with a score of 0-2 (15-21, 15-21).
In August 2014, Jaquet participated in the World Badminton Championships held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in the women’s singles event. She was eliminated in the first round with a score of 0-2 (18-21, 14-21) by Indonesia’s Bellaetrix Manuputty.
In August 2017, Jaquet participated in the World Badminton Championships held in Glasgow, Scotland, in the women’s singles event. She defeated Ukrainian player Natalia Verba 2-1 in the first round to advance, but was then eliminated by the 12th seed, India’s Saina Nehwal, with a score of 0-2 (11-21, 12-21) in the second round.
In July 2021, Jaquet was eliminated in the group stage of the women’s singles at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 without winning a match, failing to advance to the knockout stage. At the same time, she announced her retirement.
