Character Introduction
Sai Pranith Bamidipati is an Indian male badminton player.
In October 2008, Pranith played badminton at the Republican Commonwealth Youth Games, winning the bronze medal in the men’s doubles with Pranab Jerry Chopra.
In 2010, Pranith competed at the World Junior Badminton Championships in Mexico, winning third place in the men’s singles event.
In June 2013, Pranis rallied to beat Indonesian star Dawei 2-1 in the first round of the men’s singles at the Indonesia Premier Superseries, becoming his opponent’s last opponent before his retirement.
On March 17, 2019, Pranis was runner-up in the men’s singles at the 2019 BWF World Tour Swiss Open.
On March 29, 2019, Pranis lost 23-21/11-21/19-21 to Srikanth in the Men’s Singles Quarterfinals of the BWF Super 500 India Open, stopping in the last eight.
In August 2019, Pranis played in the World Badminton Championships, picking off Indonesian stars Kim Ting and Jonathan to reach the semifinals, before losing to Kento Momota to collect a bronze medal.
On February 9, 2020, he won the 2020 Indian Badminton Premier League with the Bangalore Rioters.
On March 4, 2024, Pranis announced on social media platforms that he was retiring from badminton and would be heading to the Badminton Academy of North Carolina as the head coach.
