The Australian Open is a badminton tournament held annually in Australia, also known as the Australian International. This event has been one of the stops of the BWF Grand Prix since 2009, and became one of the Gold Grand Prix events in 2011. From the 2014 season, this event will be upgraded to one of the stops of the BWF Super Series, becoming the first Oceania country to host the Super Series. In 2018, the BWF implemented a new World Tour system, and this event is now a second-level fifth-level event (Super 300).
