Character Introduction

Tang Chun Man (English: Tang Chun Man, March 20, 1995 – ) is a famous male badminton player from Hong Kong, China, specializing in mixed doubles. His partnership with Xie Yingxue topped the world ranking at number two.

In September 2014, Tang Chun Man represented Hong Kong in badminton at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.

In May 2016, Tang Chun-man and Ko Chin-chung played in the Thomas Cup in Kunshan, China as the No. 1 men’s doubles team of Hong Kong. They faced World Champion and Indonesian duo Muhammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan in the second set of the quarterfinals and defeated their opponents 2-0 (21-17, 21-19), although the Hong Kong team ended up losing 1-3 in the overall set and failed to advance, the duo’s performance was highly publicized.

In October 2017, Teng Chun Man participated in the Denmark Badminton Premier Superseries, playing in the Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles events with Ko Chin Chung and Tse Ying Xue respectively. In the mixed doubles semifinals, he and Xie Yingxue first defeated Rio Olympic and World Champions Tontowi Ahmad/Liliana Nasir of Indonesia 2-0 (21-16, 21-18), and then narrowly lost to world No. 1 Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen of China 2-1 (24-22, 19-21, 23-21) in the final to win their first Super Series title since teaming up. They won their first Super Series title together.

In July 2021, the team of Xie Yingxue and Deng Junwen competed in the Tokyo Olympic mixed doubles badminton tournament, which was postponed due to the epidemic. They beat their opponents in the group stage to reach the semifinals, but lost to the top-seeded Chinese pair Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong 0-2 (16-21, 12-21) to fall into the bronze medal match. In the bronze medal match, the “Deng Xie Pair” faced the world No.5 pair of Isao Watanabe and Yusa Higashino, representing the host country Japan; they lost two sets in a row, 0-2 (17-21, 21-23), and lost the medal, finishing in fourth place, but breaking the record of Hong Kong team.
