Character Introduction
Chen Chi Ka, a Hong Kong female badminton player.
In 2008, following her family’s suggestion, Chen Chi Ka transitioned to a full-time athlete after graduating from secondary school. That year, she won the Badminton Youth Open Championship in Indonesia. In 2009, she won both the women’s singles and women’s doubles (with Xie Ying Xue) titles at the Hong Kong Badminton Championships. She was also selected as the “Most Promising Athlete” in the Hong Kong Outstanding Athletes election.
In December 2009, Chen Chi Ka represented Hong Kong at the East Asian Games, where she won a bronze medal in the women’s team event.
In November 2010, Chen Chi Ka replaced Zhou Mi, who was suspended due to a “doping incident,” and represented Hong Kong at the Guangzhou Asian Games in both women’s doubles (with Zhou Kai Hua) and women’s team events.
In August 2013, Chen Chi Ka competed in the World Badminton Championships held in Guangzhou, China. In the women’s singles event, she won the first round 2-1 against Danish player Line Kjaersfeldt but was defeated 1-2 (10-21, 22-20, 9-21) by the 13th seed, Korea’s Bae Youn Joo, in the second round.
