Wiratama Yohan Hadikusumo
Character Introduction
Yohan Hadikusumo WIRATAMA (born April 6, 1977) is a retired Hong Kong male badminton player, specializing in doubles. His older brother is the renowned Indonesian badminton player and Olympic men’s singles champion, Taufik Hidayat.
Originally a member of the Indonesian national badminton team, Yohan Hadikusumo WIRATAMA decided to leave Indonesia and continue his career abroad after a national team reorganization. In May 2002, he moved to Hong Kong; he chose to represent Hong Kong because there were two former Indonesian teammates on the team, and the head coach of the Hong Kong team, Chan Chi Choi, is also an Indonesian Chinese.
In March 2010, Yohan Hadikusumo WIRATAMA won the German Badminton Grand Prix mixed doubles title with his partner, young player Xie Yingxue. In November of the same year, he represented Hong Kong at the Guangzhou Asian Games, competing in men’s doubles, mixed doubles, and men’s team events.
On March 1, 2014, Yohan Hadikusumo WIRATAMA officially retired from the Badminton World Federation.
