Yuki Kaneko


Character Introduction

Yuki Kaneko (Japanese: かねこ ゆうき; July 22, 1994) is a Japanese male badminton player and a current member of the Japan national badminton team (A team).

In October 2012, Kaneko Yuki competed in the World Junior Badminton Championships in Japan, reaching the men’s doubles final with Takudo Inoue, but ultimately finishing second to the Hong Kong duo, 0-2 (16-21, 17-21).

In March 2013, Yuki Kaneko and Takuto Inoue played in the Romanian Badminton International, defeating Quentin Vincent/Sebastien Vincent of France 2-0 (21-10, 21-10) in the men’s doubles final to win their first international title.

In February 2017, Yuki Kaneko and Takuto Inoue played in the Austrian Open Badminton Championships, winning the men’s doubles final with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-17) win over the tournament’s 5th seeds, Frederik Kohlberg/Rasmus Friedberg of Denmark. In July of the same year, he and Takuto Inoue played in the USA Badminton Golden Grand Prix, winning the men’s doubles final by defeating the tournament’s top seeds, Lu Jingyao/Yang Bo Han of Chinese Taipei, 2-1 (15-21, 21-13, 21-13).

In March 2018, Yuki Kaneko and Takuto Inoue played in the German Open Badminton Championships, winning the title in the Men’s Doubles final with a 2-0 (21-16, 21-18) upset of Indonesia’s Faja Alfran/Muhammad Rian Alianto.
