Lu Ching Yao


Character Introduction

Lu Ching Yao is a male badminton player from Chinese Taipei.

In July 2011, Lu Ching-Yao, partnering with Huang Chia-Hsin, competed in the Asia Junior Badminton Championships in Lucknow, India. They finished as runners-up in the men’s doubles final, losing 14-21, 13-21 to their compatriots Huang Po-Jui and Lin Chia-Yu.

In August 2014, Lu Ching-Yao and Huang Po-Jui participated in the Singapore International Series. They won the men’s doubles title by defeating the second-seeded Malaysian pair Jagdish Singh and Tan Wee Long Roni 2-1 (21-14, 15-21, 21-16) in the final.

In 2016, Lu Ching-Yao teamed up with Yang Po-Han to compete in three consecutive tournaments on the Badminton Europe Circuit, winning titles at the Belgian International, Polish International, and Czech Open.

In January 2017, Lu Ching-Yao and Yang Po-Han competed in the India Grand Prix Gold. They reached the men’s doubles final but were defeated by the top-seeded Danish pair Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen 0-2 (14-21, 15-21), finishing as runners-up. In June of the same year, they reached the semifinals of the Australian Open Super Series, where they were defeated by the third-seeded Japanese pair Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda 0-2 (15-21, 15-21), marking their best Super Series performance at that time.

In 2022, Lu Ching-Yao and Yang Po-Han competed in the French Open, reaching the men’s doubles final. They finished as runners-up, narrowly losing to the Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty 13-21, 19-21, marking their best performance in a Super 750 tournament.

In November 2022, Lu Ching-Yao and Yang Po-Han won their first Super Series title at the Hylo Open. They defeated their compatriots Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan in a thrilling final 11-21, 21-17, 25-23.
