Thai Badminton Player Dechapol Puavaranukroh Engaged to Teammate Pupe Puttita Supajirakul
On August 6, Thai badminton mixed doubles star Dechapol Puavaranukroh announced on his personal Instagram that he is engaged to his teammate, Pupe Puttita Supajirakul. Dechapol also shared his thoughts on their recent Olympic journey, mentioning that although their second Olympic quest did not result in fulfilling their dream, they had given their best effort and are determined to work even harder in the future.
Dechapol, along with his partner Sapsiree Taerattanachai, is renowned in the world of badminton mixed doubles. Born in 1996, Puttita Supajirakul was previously Sapsiree’s partner in women’s doubles, standing at an impressive height of 1.82 meters, making her taller than Dechapol—a rarity among female badminton players.
Puttita’s career highlights include winning a bronze medal in women’s doubles with Sapsiree at the 2022 World Championships in Tokyo. She was once a key player in Thailand’s women’s doubles team, contributing to the team’s runner-up finish at the 2018 Uber Cup, a third-place finish at the 2020 Uber Cup, and securing three gold medals in the Southeast Asian Games women’s team events (2015, 2017, and 2019). On May 30, 2023, she announced her retirement from the Thailand national badminton team.
