Deng Joy Xuan
Character Introduction
Deng Joy Xuan, born in Guangzhou, Guangdong, is a Chinese female badminton player.
Deng Xuan had poor health as a child, so she began playing badminton to improve her fitness, and gradually, she developed a passion for the sport. In February 2010, Deng Xuan was selected from the Guangzhou Badminton Team to join China’s National Badminton Second Team, becoming one of the few players to skip the provincial team and go directly to the national team.
In August 2010, Deng Xuan represented China in the Women’s Singles event at the Singapore Summer Youth Olympic Games. In the final, she was defeated by Thailand’s Sapsiree Taerattanachai with a score of 0-2 (14-21, 17-21), earning the silver medal.
In April 2013, Deng Xuan reached the finals of the New Zealand Badminton Grand Prix in Women’s Singles and won her first international title by defeating Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 2-1 (21-17, 18-21, 22-20).
