Character Introduction
Isabel Lohau (born Isabel Herttrich on March 17, 1992) is a German female badminton player.
In July 2011, Herttrich represented Germany at the European Youth Badminton Championships held in Vantaa, Finland. The German team secured the gold medal in the mixed team event, and Herttrich also won bronze medals in the women’s doubles and mixed doubles categories.
In mid-May 2012, she partnered with Inken Wernefeld at the Slovenia International Badminton tournament, defeating Wales’ Sarah Thomas/Carissa Turner, the top seeds, 2-1 (21-14, 13-21, 21-17) to win her first international women’s doubles title.
In January 2013, Herttrich teamed up with Peter Kaspar at the Stockholm International Badminton tournament in Sweden, defeating the Netherlands’ Jelle Maas/Iris Tabeling 2-0 (21-17, 21-14) to claim her first international mixed doubles title.
In December 2014, Herttrich and Peter Kaspar reached the finals of the Ireland Open, losing to Denmark’s Nicolas Noe/Sara Thygesen, the second seeds, 0-2 (10-21, 18-21). Later in the same month, they won the mixed doubles title at the US Grand Prix, defeating Shu Zhihao/Li Yiheng from the USA 2-0 (21-12, 21-14).
In February 2017, Herttrich partnered with Carla Neeltje at the German Gold Grand Prix, falling to Japan’s Fukuhara Yuki/Hirota Ayaka, the runners-up at the finals, 0-2 (19-21, 10-21) in the women’s doubles semifinals.
In February 2018, Herttrich and Mark Lamsfuß won the mixed doubles title at the Swiss Open, defeating England’s Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith, the seventh seeds, 2-0 (22-20, 21-19) in the finals.
At the 2022 European Badminton Championships, Herttrich and Lamsfuß emerged victorious in the mixed doubles event.
