He became a professional player at the age of 11 and has been a member of the national team since 2010.
“I started playing badminton from a young age because my father was the first badminton player from the Czech Republic to represent the country at the 1992 Olympics. I fell in love with the sport.”
Czech Youth Player of the Year in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
In June 2015, Adam Mendrek won the men’s singles title at the Lithuanian International Badminton Tournament.
In August 2017, Mendrek competed in the BWF World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, in the men’s singles event. He was defeated in the first round by 16th seed Rajiv Ouseph of England in straight sets (15-21, 13-21).
