Character Introduction
Kim Won-ho (Korean: 김원호, June 2, 1999) is a South Korean male badminton player. His mother is 1996 Olympic mixed doubles gold medalist Yoshinaga.
In July 2016, Kim Won Ho represented South Korea at the Asian Junior Badminton Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, where he won a silver medal in the mixed team event that led off the tournament, while in the doubles event, Kim Won Ho and Lee Yu-Rin were defeated by the Chinese duo in the final, 1-2, and ended up winning the runner-up spot.
In July 2017, Kim Won Ho competed in the Canadian Badminton Grand Prix with Seo Seung Jae and Shin Seung Zan respectively. In the mixed doubles final, he won his first gold title by taking down fellow Korean No. 1 duo Hyung Rate Kyu/Choi Eui-jung in straight sets, 2-0 (21-19, 21-16). In the men’s doubles final, a three-set battle was reversed 1-2 (20-22, 21-16, 19-21) by tournament No. 8 seeds Peter Briggs/Tom Wolfenden of England failing to shock the tournament’s second title.
In October 2017, Kim Won-ho represented Korea at the World Junior Badminton Championships in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, where Korea took bronze in the first mixed team event, while in the doubles event, Kim Won-ho and Kang Min-hyuk were defeated by the Japanese duo of Kaneko Manda/Kubota Tomonosuke, 1-2 (21-19, 17-21, 19-21), in the semifinals and also collected the third place.
