After winning two consecutive championships, Marin

Marin, the badminton women’s singles champion of the Rio Olympics, recently said in an interview with the official website of the Badminton World Federation that she will prepare for her second Olympic women’s singles gold medal and compete in the Paris Olympics in 100% condition.

The 30-year-old Marin is the best player in the current badminton women’s singles competition. She was most dominant from 2014 to 2018, winning three world championships and one Olympic championship. Due to injuries, Marin was unable to participate in the Tokyo Olympics. After returning from injury, Marin’s condition gradually improved and she is now back to the ranks of world-class players.

She won the women’s singles title at the All England Open last month, and then she won the Swiss Open women’s singles title. Marin’s recovery broke the situation of An Se-young, Chen Yufei, Tai Tzu-ying and Yamaguchi Akane competing for the top four in the women’s singles event.

Marin said in an interview: “I don’t know how much I have recovered, but what I know is that I will be 100% in the Paris Olympics. I have no doubt about this. My knee is in perfect condition and I haven’t felt any discomfort for a long time.”

Marin has already defeated China’s Chen Yufei, Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu-ying and Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi this year, showing her strong strength. South Korea’s An Se-young is the strongest in women’s singles, but she also has injuries. The competition for the women’s singles gold medal at the Paris Olympics is basically between these five players. Marin, who was not optimistic before, has now become a strong contender for the women’s singles Olympic gold medal.
