Badminton Racket YONEX NF800 Reviews
It’s like an experiment.
On August 30th in late summer and early fall, YONEX launched this Nanoflare 800, and that’s how it felt to me.
In the decades since the introduction of carbon fiber as a material for badminton, the performance competition around carbon fiber composites has never stopped. The concept of “aerospace materials” has long been no one will mention again, because the aircraft rocket is no longer enough to describe today’s carbon fiber composite materials, even if you can conquer the stars and the sea and so on, can be 80 grams smashed 10,000 pounds of weight to kill is what the players want. This produces a distorted performance unit “T”, T300, T700, T1000, on behalf of the carbon fiber model, or as TNT general 1000 tons of power? In the business plausible explanation and ball players in the whimsical, T in the end what is already no one cares, complex concepts do not need to understand, the size of the number of how the general combat power is directly equivalent to the size of the power is the most reasonable.
From this point of view, YONEX now comes up with the sign of Torika M40X, but rather a little bit of people in two feet – puzzled.
Carbon fiber types are unknown to the average consumer, and tensile strength and modulus are even unfamiliar terms. Without this chart, I would not be able to understand the status of M40X, which YY advertises as “pursuing high strength and high elasticity at the same time”. After looking at the picture, if you still don’t know what M40X is, then I can tell you that M40X is the strongest performance carbon fiber available on the market for badminton rackets.
It is with M40X to build the entire lower part of the frame, solidifying the base of the entire racket, the NF800 can appear all kinds of experimental features.
Experiment 1: What it takes to achieve a true windbreak.
A windbreak frame to me is more of a cosmetic concept, referring to a class of frames that have certain cosmetic characteristics. Without the advertised lab data, it is not so easy to experience wind breakage on a personal level. To reduce wind resistance, the NF800 delivers its own answer: a significant reduction in size. The top half of the frame has been reduced by 13% and the bottom half by 15.1%. This approach is very intuitive, and the naked eye can observe that the NF800’s frame is really very slim, and even more so when compared to the NF700.
Obviously, the high-strength M40X deserves a lot of credit for being able to reduce the size while keeping the poundage at 28-29 pounds. The slimmer NF800 does a great job of reducing wind resistance and increasing its swing speed to a level that anyone can easily feel. *I was used to the AX88S, and I felt that the NF800’s swing speed was excellent right from the start – the AX88S is already a fast shooter, but the NF800 was able to bring a noticeable increase in swing speed, which was incredible.
Experiment 2: How to position yourself now that high-end shoot performance is converging.
Under decades of competition, the potential of carbon fiber resin composites has been fully tapped. Although YONEX is in a leading position in badminton rackets, sitting on many patented technologies, the rival’s research and development is also pressing forward, and is able to come up with products that are not inferior to compete head-on. With the introduction of M40X, an extremely advanced material, YONEX’s aim is clear – to show everyone who is the king of the badminton racket world.
However, it is not enough to have the best materials, it is important to be able to utilize them. Throughout the high-end racket, there is never a lack of various kinds of offense racket, but the quick bullet light racket is relatively rare. In addition to the difficulty of production, it is also an indisputable fact that the threshold for the use of quick release rackets is high and they are not popular enough. While M40X is a great attack racquet, YY chose to maximize M40X’s high elasticity in addition to its high strength to make a unique head light racquet on the market. the goal of NF800 is very clear: high efficiency. Excellent elasticity, high swing speed and low swing weight all contribute to the efficiency of the stroke. For the higher level players, efficiency is something that can be translated into points. Therefore, what YY chose to build with the M40X is a complete tool racket, customized for people who actually play the game.
Experiment 3: Feeling on the court
The extremely stiff frame and head-light configuration of the NF800 make it not so easy to get started. Using the NF800 requires a certain power base and launching skills, and in the official website recommendations, the NF800 is also a racquet aimed at upper-level amateur players.
With the M40X, the NF800 is the most stable racquet on the market, so if you have a delicate hand for handling small balls such as net shots, the NF800 is best suited to show your court magic. It is very sensitive to small finger shots, and for the expert, it faithfully reflects the magnitude of the shot, allowing for fine control.
The ultra-thin frame gives the NF800 high sensitivity, and with high swing speeds combined with a stable frame, the NF800 will undoubtedly excel in flat draws. However, the most impressive thing is the speed and flexibility of the NF800, which not only makes it aggressive in the flat attack, but also creates more space for you to defend.
When it comes to offense, many may feel that there is little advantage to head-light shooting. But the NS9900’s hot streak is clearly stating a very different truth. The key is still the threshold. Due to the existence of the threshold, both NF800 and NS9900 are oriented to players with a certain degree of basic skills. The strength of the offense is still determined by the user in the first place, and the racket is a tool of varying efficiency. In terms of efficiency, the NF800 is undoubtedly top of the line, with a high elasticity rate frame and a center tube for excellent force transfer, all of these configurations ensure that the energy of your offense will not be wasted for no reason, as long as you have the strength to drive it. Therefore, the NF800 is an excellent racquet that faithfully reflects your power on the offensive side of the court, is efficient and responsible, and can be said to be suitable for any kind of offense, whether it is a point or a heavy kill.
Speaking of the offense bit, though, it’s the feel that has to be mentioned – the feel of the NF800 is quite, quite thin. Perhaps because of the high elasticity of the frame, the NF800’s stringbed has a very short touch time, resulting in a very uninspiring feel. Often I felt that the ball had already gone out before I could launch it, not to mention savoring the feel of my kills. Some of the amateur players can be said to be feel type players, some like soft, like sticky ball, like hard, as long as the feeling of hitting the ball on the right, their technical play seems to be able to go up a level. NF800 in the feeling of hitting the ball of course is a hard type, but it really can not provide that kind of clanking bones in the hands of the rich feeling of hitting the ball. The NF800 is not as friendly to the feel-good player.
Experience Summary
The positioning of NF800 is very clear, it is an efficient and practical tool shooter. It has no gimmicks, no showy skills, it works hard for you, and it is as capable as you are. For the superior players, its efficiency will eventually be reflected in the game, even if it does not give you the illusion of instant strength, but the score does not lie. Fast, efficient and flexible are its qualities.
And with its threshold for use and thin feel, it’s not exactly friendly to the beginning golfer. It doesn’t get on well, and it doesn’t give you the feeling of having a magic weapon in your hand. That’s the disadvantage of a tool racket, efficient and practical, but not flashy enough. I think the appearance of NF800 has already reflected this point: the body is black like rough iron, only the red and yellow are talking about its inner blazing.
