At the end of 2005, when her father visited Singapore, he found that the place was very suitable for children’s development. So in 2006, the whole family moved to Singapore. After arriving in Singapore, Liang Xiaoyu enrolled in Yunneng Primary School and later was promoted to Anglican High School. During this period, she has been under the guidance of Zhang Qingsong, the former coach of the Singapore national badminton team. After only one year of studying at Anglican High School, she transferred to a sports school to receive more systematic training and was elected as the outstanding female student athlete of Wushun Chang of the sports school in 2012.
In 2011, Liang Xiaoyu officially became a Singaporean citizen and was selected into the national team to participate in the Southeast Asian Games. Being promoted to the national women’s team has created more opportunities for Liang Xiaoyu to go abroad for competitions and improve her technical level. Source: badmintoncn.com
