Today is the sixth day of badminton competition. After some amazing performances by several European players, including Toma Junior Popov, the Stoeva sisters and Maiken Fruergaard/Sara Thygesen, We have another great European game coming up.
Women’s Doubles
Chen Qing Chen / Jia Yi Fan [1] (CHN) vs Gabriela Stoeva / Stefani Stoeva (BUL)
Sara Thygesen / Maiken Fruergaard (DEN) vs Nami Matsuyama / Chiharu Shida [4] (JPN)
The two women’s doubles quarterfinals involving European players ended in two sets. Sadly, this means we have to say goodbye to a European women’s doubles medal. However, we would like to emphasize that these two women’s doubles have made great achievements in coming out of the group stage in such a fierce competition!
Later in the day we will have three more matches in the knockout stages with European participation.
