Pai Yu Po
Character Introduction
Pai Yu Po, nicknamed “Little Pai,” is a Taiwanese female badminton player who competes in multiple events, including women’s singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
In December 2010, Pai Yu-po competed in the Kaohsiung International Challenge and reached the women’s singles final, where she defeated Jiang Pei-hsin, who was also from the Land Bank team at the time, with a score of 2-0 (21-19, 21-17), winning her first international title. She is currently a member of the Cooperative Bank badminton team.
In August 2015, Pai Yu-po participated in the BWF World Championships held in Jakarta, Indonesia, competing in the women’s singles event. She reached the third round but was defeated by the top seed, Carolina Marin of Spain, in a three-set match (11-21, 21-18, 17-21), ending her run in the top 16.
In October 2016, Pai Yu-po withdrew from the Chinese Taipei Masters due to an injury, later discovered to be a fractured right elbow. She underwent elbow arthroscopy at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital the following morning. She expressed regret for missing the international event held in her home country and anticipated a recovery period of three to six months.
In August 2017, Pai Yu-po competed in the BWF World Championships held in Glasgow, Scotland, in the women’s singles category. She won her first-round match 2-0 against Finland’s Nanna Vainio but was defeated 0-2 (13-21, 14-21) by the 9th seed, Chen Yufei of China, in the second round.
