Stefan Karlsson: Renowned Swedish Badminton Player

Stefan Karlsson (Swedish: Stefan Karlsson, born November 5, 1955), is a former Swedish male badminton player who later changed his name to Stefan Mellgård.

Although he represented the Swedish team in singles at the Thomas Cup and won the Swedish national singles championship twice, his greatest achievements were in doubles. He won the men’s doubles title at the biennial European Badminton Championships twice, in 1980 with Claes Noddin and in 1982 with Thomas Stjernelund. In 1983, he shared the men’s doubles title at the All England Badminton Championships with Thomas Stjernelund.
