YONEX is a sports equipment manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, commonly referred to as YY. Founded by Minoru Yoneyama in 1946 as Yoneyama Woodworking Co., it was reorganized in 1958 to become the present Yonex Co., Ltd. In 1978, Yonex established its Taiwan branch, YONEX Trading Co., Ltd., and in 1987, it went public in Taiwan, establishing YONEX Taiwan Co., Ltd. The company headquarters are located at 3-23-13 Yushima, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, and the founding location is Tsukanoyama, Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture (formerly Koshiji Town). The Taiwanese subsidiary is located at No. 15, Gongye 24th Rd., Nantun District, Taichung City. The corporate colors are blue and green, and the logo combines these two colors with the “yy” logo. The logo has been slightly revised twice so far.
