The Canadian Open is a badminton tournament held annually in Canada since 1957. In the early days, the event was held at the same time as the Canadian National Championships, and was not held separately until 1962. In 2008 and 2009, the event was also called the Canadian International, but since 2010 it has been renamed and has become one of the stops in the BWF Grand Prix series. In 2018, the BWF implemented a new world tour system, and this event is now a second-tier, fourth-level event (Super 500).
